Our Vegan Silk Lashes are made from Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT). PBT creates natural looking lightweight eyelashes that do not lose their shape. They can be molded into an ultra-fine tapered shape to mimic a natural eyelash. PBT causes the least chance of an allergic reaction on human skin in comparison to other materials.

Mademoiselle Lashes are individually handmade with a cotton band. With proper care and storage, your lashes can last up to 20 wears (based on average use). Be sure to retain the box and tray that your lashes arrive in to store them and keep them looking their best. Please also make sure to review how to care for your lashes via our Lash Care Guide.
We offer one standard size because they are meant be fitted by our Mademoiselles, and to her preference. Only you can know how you want your lashes to fit. Read How to Apply Lashes to learn how to properly trim them down to your desired size.
Practice makes perfect! Like anything you do in life, the more often you work at something, the easier it will be. On average, most users of false eyelashes require less than 5 minutes to apply their lashes; this is start to finish, including waiting for the glue to become tacky and for the lash to set once applied onto your eyelid!
Always trim from the outer end of the lash and not the inner. Usually we recommend users cut just short of the natural length of the eye as this will provide an easier application and will prevent the band from poking the inner corner of your eyes. Read How to Apply Lashes to learn more.
Carefully remove the first lash from its tray. If it has been worn previously and has glue residue, we suggest removing that before applying. Take the edges of the lash strip and gently bend it in a U shape, to make it more flexible. Then apply your favorite lash adhesive along the band, following the instructions on the glue. While waiting for the glue to go tacky (approx. 30 seconds), curl our eyelashes. Then use tweezers to place the lashes as close to your natural lash line as possible. Position the center first, then push the inner corner into position, and finally the outer corner. Apply eyeliner (optional, of course!) to fill any gaps. Check out How to Apply Lashes for step-by-step instructions and further advice.
You want your lashes to last, so be gentle when removing them. First, securely hold the lash at the base and, beginning at the outer corner, gently pull the lash towards the direction of your inner eye. Your false lashes should come off without much effort or discomfort. If your lashes are not coming off easily, try applying a small amount of non-oil based makeup remover with a cotton swab. Do not wipe across your entire lash line with it. Just dab the specific areas where your lashes won't release until you have sufficiently softened the glue.
Mademoiselle Lash products are made for multiple wears, but how many uses you can get depends on how you care for your lashes. Here are some tips and best practices to maximize their lifespan:· Don’t sleep in your lashes.· Remove glue buildup from the strip after 3 – 4 wears. Hold the lashes at the base (make sure to hold the base and lash hairs with the pads of your fingers to avoid individual lashes from being pulled off) and gently pull the glue with your fingers. It should come off easily.· Reuse our lash trays for storing, to keep your eyelashes in shape.Read more in our Lash Care guide.
Keeping your lashes dry is part of preserving their shape and look, so that they can be worn again. Mademoiselle Lashes are handmade of 100% vegan silk, which can withstand getting a little wet compared to other lash fibers. But we’re not saying you can jump in the pool with them. Wet lashes can lose their curl and shape. Be conscious of keeping them dry, but don’t freak out if you get caught in the rain before you grab your umbrella. It’s okay, they will survive!
If you prefer to wear mascara, of course you can wear it. However, if you do choose to apply mascara, use it sparingly as the layers may stick together with product on them. Also be aware that this may shorten the life of your lashes, therefore reducing the number of wears you could get out of them. Our lashes are multi-layered so they are designed to look lusciously voluminous without the need for mascara.
False lashes are meant to be applied just above your natural lash line, so as long as you apply them as recommended, your natural lashes will not be affected in any way. In fact, you may be doing your lashes a favor since you can get away without curling or using mascara on your natural lashes when you’re wearing false ones. Give your lashes a break and wear Mademoiselle Lash more often!
